Today’s #WCW is our fearless leader Garnet. Main photo credit goes to zphotosnet. Thanks for capturing such a great smile. This classically trained beauty has been singing for over 20 years. She began in choirs at age three, which helped her read music and learn to perform. Garnet continued to sing throughout her youth and at age twelve, she attended the Blair School of Music, part of Vanderbilt University. The front woman’s education and experience in choral music led her to branch out and begin singing in collaboration with local bands. Finally, in 2007, Garnet and some friends got the idea to start the Dry river Yacht Club. The traditional training she learned taught Garnet the control she has over voice and diaphragm. This is apparent not only in the powerful operatic vocals used in Dryc shows, but in side projects as well. Anyone that has seen this woman perform has been wowed by her ability to project an impressive vocal range. Even her sweeter sound is enchanting. The #PCHC performance at #CrescentBallroom and the love songs on #ElTigre showed us that the hard rocker has a soft side. This singing sensation has many other talents such as making chain mail and jewelry that she sports regularly. Check them out in all their unique steampunk/gypsy glamour at upcoming @drycmusic shows. Find her outside of venues with friends and family in a kitchen cooking recipes passed down from her Greek heritage. This lead singer has shown us she deserves to be this week’s Woman Crush Wednesday! Be sure to catch our favorite front woman in Dry River Yacht Club’s high energy performance at Summer’s End Music Festival on Friday, September 26, 2014.
